Entertainment Complex

Description:

This position is responsible for assisting with scheduling part time staff and other related job tasks of the Entertainment Complex Food & Beverage and Hersheypark Rides Department. The Entertainment Complex consists of HERSHEYPARK, HERSHEYPARK Stadium, HERSHEYPARK Arena, GIANT Center and Hershey Theatre. The position is part time averaging 24 hours / 3 days per week, (no more than 30 hours per week).
 
This position pays $11.20 per hour.
 
Job Functions:

  • Completing the entire scheduling process in conjunction with other office/scheduling team members, which includes; employee time off requests, schedule/shift creation, and schedule modifications for over 2000 seasonal employees and non profit volunteers
  • Responding to written, electronic and verbal inquiries relating to events, schedules, policies, and procedures
  • Handling a high volume of in-coming and out-going phone calls as well as greeting and assisting employee walk-ins
  • Counseling employees on their attendance records and applying progressive disciplinary procedures up to including termination
  • Assisting with the part time employee payroll process
  •  Filing personal and confidential records and performing other job related tasks related to the operational human resource functions of the Food & Beverage and Ride Operations departments

Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must possess a high school diploma or have comparative education (ie GED)
  • Minimum of one (1) year of scheduling / staffing or related business supervisory experience
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a professional office environment
 
Additional Qualifications:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and have the ability to quickly learn other computer applications
  • Must have proven excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be innovative and be self-motivated to complete tasks
  • Must be detail orientated with proven organizational skills
  • Must be able to work well in a team environment and provide regular updates on shared job assignments
  • Must have reliable, steady transportation to and from work
  • Must display a positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and professional image in compliance with Hershey Entertainment & Resorts guidelines
  • Must have the ability to safeguard confidential information
  • Must have the ability to work without a conflict of interest
 
Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to work 24 hours / 3 days per week (up to an additional 8 hours may be available during some weeks depending on business needs)
  • One weekend (Saturday and Sunday) per month and some holidays required
  • Working times are typically general business hours (9:00am-5:00pm); however, some flexibility will be needed as some shifts may occasionally start earlier or end later
  • A majority of the time will be spent working in an office environment; however, outside work in a variety of weather conditions may also be required
  • Physical requirements include standing, sitting, walking (including stairs), writing / typing and lifting up to 20 pounds
