The Entertainment Communications Coordinator supports a variety of duties and initiatives on the Communications team as part of traditional and social media initiatives. This role will primarily focus on the Hersheypark Entertainment properties of HE&R in terms of media pitching support, event management, mining for story ideas and media targets, as well as social media content development. When needed, this role will also assist the Resorts team. As the team Coordinator, this role is responsible for general monitoring and tracking on social media, as well as ongoing weekly and monthly tasks.


Job Functions:

  • Write entertainment media materials including press releases, alerts, pitches, and original content/stories for the blog, etc.
  • Take the lead in escorting media during filming, concerts, events and more, when needed.
  • Serve as the lead on the Entertainment Communications team with entertainment media pitching, mining story ideas, media list development, media itineraries, briefing documents etc.
  • Support content creation, monitoring and measurement/analytics duties for select social media channels including Hershey Entertainment and Hersheypark channels, as well as @HersheyPA Twitter handle.
  • Lead representative for concerts/shows events on HE&R properties, both for traditional and social media initiatives.
  • Attend relevant Operational and Marketing meetings on behalf of team, as needed, and share notes and updates with necessary team members.
  • Act as Communications Team representative with special events, when needed.
  • Serve as media spokesperson on HE&R's behalf, when needed.
  • Lead representative for Chocolate Town Challenges, including Hershey 10K and Hershey Half Marathon.


Basic Qualifications:

  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Minimum of 1 year of related experience (Internships will be considered)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Communications, or Marketing related fields
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License


Additional Qualifications:

  • Industry Experience in the Hospitality/Tourism, Amusement Park, Sales/Marketing/Public Relations industries preferred.
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
  • Proficient working with details on a daily basis for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be a strong writer and eager to pitch media outlets about Hershey.
  • Must have strong working knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram).
  • Strong speaker, willing and able to speak on camera and groups of varying sizes.
  • Must be a team player, collaborative, creative responsive, curious and eager to learn.
  • Ability to work on ‘off hours’ such as early morning, evenings and/or weekends, as needed.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

  • The primary work schedule for this position will include Monday-Friday between 8:30AM-5:00PM. The work schedule may also include early mornings (early broadcasts), evenings, weekends and holidays based on media events and requests. This position will be responsible for working numerous concerts and shows that fall on weekends as well.
  • This job requires a good sense of vision (either corrected or uncorrected). Visual ability to operate moving equipment such as a car, truck, golf carts, etc.
  • This job requires the visual ability to view work at distances of approximately 5 feet (operation and adjustment of machinery).
  • This job regularly requires verbal communication of detailed information to others either by phone or in person.
  • Must be able to speak and read the English language.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:
