Based in Moncton, New Brunswick, the Intellectual Property Assistant will support Patent and Trademark work at SPIELO International. This is an ideal opportunity for a detail-oriented team player who possesses exceptional multitasking and organizational abilities, strong client-service skills, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Patent and General Intellectual Property Duties:
  • Support for Patent Research Including, but not Limited to the Following:
    • Landscaping
    • IP Mapping
    • IP Checks (Research on Competition, Inventions, Inventors, etc.)
    • Research and Data Analysis of Spielo International Docket
  • Budget Management
    • Monthly Accrual for Intellectual Property Department
    • Invoice Documentation and Filing
    • Comprehensive docketing of IP Invoice Information and Creating Monthly and Annual Reports
  • Docket
    • Enhancing and Updating Spielo International Canada Patent Docket
    • Tracking Patent Prosecution Matters and Deadlines
    • Tracking Patent Annuity Deadlines
    • Creating Reports for the Director of Intellectual Property
    • Maintenance of Spielo International Canada Patents in IP Manager
  • Usage of Patent/IP databases for Patent Information Retrieval and Research on a Daily Basis
  • Tracking Developments in Important Intellectual Property Cases as Directed by the Director of Intellectual Property
  • Correspondence with Outside Counsel regarding Assignments, POA’s, Declarations, Reference Numbers, Annuities, Accounts, and Other General Inquiries
  • Correspondence with Inventors throughout Patent Filing Process
  • Maintenance of IP Request Master Number and associated Status Report; facilitating the integration of IP in various stages of Product Development, Project Management, IP Product Mapping, Sales and Marketing
  • IP Meeting Scheduling
Trademark Duties:
  • Docket
    • Maintaining all North American Trademarks
    • Tracking Action and Renewal Deadlines
    • Creating Trademark Related Reports for the Trademark Manager and other Departments Deemed Relevant by the Trademark Manager
    • Master Trademark list Creation and Maintenance
  • Usage of Trademark/IP databases for Trademark Information Retrieval and Research on a Daily Basis
  • Trademark Documentation and Tracking for Various Departments
  • Contact with Outside Counsel Regarding Registered Trademarks as per Trademark Manager
  • Filing Documents for Spielo International Canada Trademark Cases
