Computer Operations Trainer I
The Trainer I is responsible for the delivery of domestic and international technical training activities that contribute to the implementation of on-line, instant, video and other lottery systems and products. This position interfaces with  project personnel, corporate support/supply personnel, and specific lottery personnel, to assist them in meeting specific project objectives. Trainer I is responsible for learning new systems and applications and how they integrate with specific job functions and business processes for a given customer’s lottery environment, in order to customize training programs. Additionally, this position provides assistance to the customer in using the technology (i.e., provide short term support) for a limited time after training delivery concludes.
Computer Operators monitor and manage Linux/AIX-based computer systems and DB2 databases. Computer Operations Trainers provide them with the skills and knowledge they need to successfully operate GTECH customer solutions through classroom instruction and hands-on exercises.
When filling this role, we are seeking individuals with strong technical background who have excellent communication skills and the ability to convey highly technical information in an organized and systematic way to others. The ideal candidate would have strong technical background in Linux (or AIX) and DB2 or computer operations and monitoring experience and experience in leading formal training sessions, although if the candidate lacks training experience, then as part of the preparations for performing in this role, we will provide the training necessary to deliver (and ultimately develop) training programs.
  •  Learn GTECH’s business and Computer Systems Operations Training methodology.
  • Under guidance of a mentor, apply your existing technical skills and knowledge to learn the unique aspects of GTECH’s technology.
  • Under the guidance of a mentor, learn the unique aspects of each particular customer delivery and modify baseline training materials to reflect what is being delivered.
  • Apply training development and delivery skills (either previously existing or newly acquired) to conduct formal training classes using established training programs that include instructor-led classes, hands-on exercises, and student assessment programs.
  • Support customers by learning customer-specific requirements to enhance training programs.
  • Track all training and assessment data, provide status reports and training wrap-up reports to management.
  • Attend training classes as required to enhance expertise relevant to job activities and to achieve certification based on department standards
  • Assist senior training staff, as time permits, on projects that have a clear link or benefit to training
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum education
                Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience

Must have one or more years of experience in Computer Systems Operations experience. Prefer experience with LINUX/AIX and DB2 but will consider experience and knowledge of other related technologies.
†Essential special training requirements
                Linux/AIX/DB2 experience preferred. Tivoli experience a plus. Business Objects experience a plus. Instructional design a plus, Analytical, communications and organizational skills required.               
†Other skills
Familiarity with Microsoft Office. Good written and excellent oral communication skills, ability to multi-task and produce requests upon demand.
Must be comfortable speaking in front a large groups.
