Position Title:   Slot Floorperson
Slot Operations

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:   Provide friendly customer service.  Assists guests with jackpots, making change, and minor machine repairs. Keep work areas safe, clean, and free of debris.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:   Must possess the ability to access all areas of the property. Vision corrected to 20/20; excellent hearing required. Must be able to maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure when dealing with difficult situations and meeting deadlines. Must be able to walk at an expedient pace for extended periods of time without a break. Maintain a neat, well-groomed, professional appearance, adhering to Greektown Casino appearance standards.  Must be able to maintain a friendly attitude and professional demeanor regardless of the situation encountered.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:   Work is primarily performed on the casino floor, in areas that may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, smoky, dimly lit or illuminated.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (includes, but is not limited to, the following):

  • Friendly customer service including taking ownership of customer problems until they are resolved.
  • Maintain clear and open communications upward, downward and laterally.
  • Maintain key control as required.
  • Adhere to currency handling procedures.
  • Handle jackpot payouts as required.
  • Handle minor slot malfunctions i.e. paper jam, bill jam, etc.
  • Make change for guests.
  • Count down currency pouch.
  • Accountable for area cleanliness.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.



Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:   Manual dexterity required to handle small hand tools, open and close slot machines with multiple latches. Must be able to read, write and communicate clearly in English and use a radio and a hand held smart phone device. Must have a basic understanding of math and arithmetic.  Must be comfortable using computers and computer systems.  Must be able to complete paperwork and execute transactions with accuracy and efficiency.  Must understand and comply with all departmental and Company rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Maintain effective working relationships with management, staff, and Greektown guests.
Education:   High school graduate required
Experience:   Prior Slot department experience preferred, cash handling experience preferred, prior experience in a customer service capacity preferred.
Certificate/License:   Michigan Gaming Occupational Level Two License
