WHAT YOU'LL DO:
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Responsible for the overall hotel facility, including physical building structure, all mechanical, electrical, H.V.A.C. systems and related equipment in accordance with established maintenance/preventive program
TYPICAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:
Requires mobility during 90% of the shift; May require prolonged standing; Requires frequent bending, stooping and reaching from floor level up to 10 ft.; Requires climbing ladders and stairs; Requires eye/hand coordination and manual dexterity; Requires use of hand and power tools; Requires normal sense of smell, touch and sound; Requires normal vision range and absence of color blindness; Requires the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols; Requires communication by telephone, beeper and radio; Requires ability to operate office equipment such as typewriter, calculator and computer; Requires ability to drive a truck; Requires regular, predictable attendance; and ; Willingness to work non-traditional days/hours
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed inside and outside in all weather conditions; Work is performed in confined areas such as attics, high areas and catwalks; Work is performed in areas which may be unusually hot; cold, noisy and dimly lit; Work entails chemical usage; Constant contact with management, staff and guests is required.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (includes, but is not limited to, the following): Works closely with the Shift Supervisors
Respond to and handle guest requests in a courteous, efficient, safe manner;
Perform preventive maintenance and necessary repairs and all hotel equipment, including kitchen, laundry, boiler,
plumbing, pool, HVAC, electrical and guest rooms;
Complete maintenance requests, take equipment and meter readings and maintain log to notify the next shift;
Document all parts used and parts needed to be purchased;
Adhere to all regulatory and safety standards and report any unsafe conditions to the Lead Engineer or the Chief Engineer;
Set up machine and make name tags and signs;
Make keys as requested;
Comply with company policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and be available to work on a regular basis;
Ensure that Superior Guest Service levels are met according to Standard Operating Procedures;
Attend meetings as scheduled; and
Other job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to maintain and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing equipment and perform carpentry, repair work, construction and renovation work; May require ability to drive pick-up truck and snow removal equipment; Excellent communication skills; Understand and comply with all Company and departmental rules, regulations, policies and procedures; Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff; Ability to read, write and communication verbally in English; Ability to perform intermediate math; Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical and mechanical equipment; Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
High School Diploma or its equivalent; Associate college degree is preferred; Journeyman Engineer status
Possesses appropriate licenses and training as required by applicable local and state laws
Two (2) years experience required, preferably in a hotel environment
MUST BE ABLE TO OBTAIN A LEVEL 2 GAMING LICENSE
