Beverage Manager

Description:

Summary:

Supervises all Beverage Department staff. Ensures Beverage quality, guest service, scheduling, labor cost and revenue goals are met. Responsible for day-to-day operations of activities and events in the entertainment outlets owned and/or operated by the company. Encourages team member morale. Helps in other departments as needed such as Banquets and Food. 

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Works with entertainers, entertainment staff and others related to each show to ensure shows are executed successfully
  • Oversees tactical execution of shows and casino events (as scheduled) to ensure smooth operation
  • Resolves any escalated guest, team member or entertainer concerns before, during and after the shows
  • Responsible for assisting with training, supervising, developing and disciplining department staff
  • Provides strong leadership, active supervision and timely coaching and counseling to the staff
  • Constitently emphasizes team member training to increase guest service standards
  • Provides continual evaluation of processes and procedures and provides methods to improve efficiency and service
  • Formulates training outlines as needed for job standards to ensure all team members understand and have the skills to provide quality internal and external guest service
  • Emphasizes developing and training program for management staff
  • Ensures management staff follows all company policies and procedures
  • Ensures management is checking team members for proper uniforms and maintaining all items needed to perform job duties
  • Ensures management staff follows guidelines as dictated by Steelworkers Union contract agreement
  • Ensures team member schedules are appropriate for the business volume
  • Ensures that the bars are clean, organized and properly funtioning and that bar equipment is maintained. Ensuring all bars are always up to health department standards
  • Ensures health, safety and sanitation standards are always followed
  • Works with designated beverage management to develop product specifications, cost analysis, and performs cuttings, yield tests, etc., as may be required
  • Reviews work procedures and operational problems to determine ways to improve service, performance and/or safety
  • Organizes and directs worker training programs, resolve personnel problems, hire new staff and evaluate team member performance in dining and drinking facilities
  • Formulates accurate reporting and evaluation methods using logs, written reports and/or warehouse staff of drink specifications, cost analysis, receiving methods and production practices to ensure products are being effectively utilized
  • Arrange for equipment maintenance and repairs and coordinate a variety of services such as waste removal and pest control
  • Establishes pars for liquor, wines, and other related items to anticipate amounts to be purchased or requisitioned
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable gaming laws and company internal controls, policies and procedures, Title 31, and federal regulations, as they apply to the position
  • Provide outstanding guest service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow team members that meets the company’s guest service culture standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related area strongly preferred
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Previous two to five years of experience supervising Beverage staff
  • Three to five years of food and beverage-related experience
  • Advanced computer skills required, including prior experience with Stratton Warren, Excel and Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent written, verbal and group presentation communication skills
  • Effective leadership techniques, program/system planning, decision making, staff development, statistical reporting/analysis, and cost-benefit analysis skills
  • Knowledge of kitchen and bar equipment and sanitation guidelines
  • Strong leadership abilities
  • Must be able to work all shifts (24/7) weekends and holidays included
  • Communicate via radios
  • Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company
  • Verify right to work in the United States
