Description:

Summary:

Responsible for training and supervising bartending staff as well as preparing and serving drinks.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and train Bartending staff in the tavern
  • Prepare and serve all drinks to proper specifications
  • Accurately follow proper cash control procedures 
  • Efficiently handle and count all cash and credit card transactions and account for all monies pertaining to bar banks
  • Adhere to the proper par stock ordering procedures
  • Maintain knowledge of liquor laws and regulations concerning service of alcoholic beverages
  • Responsible to know when and how to enforce the customer limit regulations
  • Ensure proper age of guests through identification procedure set by Company
  • Knowledge of POS operations
  • Complete set-up and clean the bar area, including washing all bar dishware and adhering to side work lists. Check coolers to ensure proper operations, orders and stocks bar supplies, checks the CO2 tanks and changes beer keys
  • Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the tavern and ensuring that the bar, dining room, and restrooms are neat and well stocked. This side work may include but is not limited to wiping down counters, cleaning dishes, restocking service areas and bathrooms, sweeping the dining room floor, refilling condiments, stocking the bar, and restocking the refrigerator
  • Maintain a safe working environment
  • Adhere to all company and health department sanitation requirements
  • Provide prompt, courteous service to guests at the bar
  • Provide outstanding customer service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow team members
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Previous bartending experience required
  • Prior experience working in a team or group environment
  • Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents
  • Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to apply common sense reasoning to variety of situations
  • Basic computer skill preferred
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to functionally communicate occupational-based English, both written and verbal
  • Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company
  • Verify right to work in the United States

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently push, pull, and maneuver items weighing up to 160 lbs.
