Top of the World Assistant GM

The Strat (Las Vegas, NV)


Summary: Assists the general manager in directing, administering and coordinating all activities of Top of the World Restaurant. Supervises day-to-day staffing in accordance with the general manager and works with interdepartmental personnel and venue management to ensure the operational effectiveness of the outlet involving profitability, hours of operation, performance standards and guest dining experiences. Performs duties and functions of general manager in the general manager’s absence.

Essential Functions:

  • Conducts staff training to increase guest service standards
  • Assists the general manager in providing continual evaluation of processes and procedures and provides methods to improve efficiency and service
  • Formulates training outlines as needed for job standards to ensure all employees understand and have the skills to provide quality internal and external guest service
  • Ensures staff follows all company policies and procedures
  • Ensures management staff follows guidelines as dictated by culinary contract agreement
  • Ensures employee schedules are appropriate for the business volume
  • Ensures that the restaurants are clean, organized and properly functioning and that restaurant equipment is maintained
  • Ensures health, safety and sanitation standards are followed at all times
  • Performs other duties as assigned



  • At least six years of related experience or training, preferably in gourmet or fine dining restaurants
  • Previous experience working in a culinary contract union environment is preferred
  • Excellent written, verbal and group presentation communication skills
  • Ability to effectively interact with individuals or small groups of people
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Word and Excel and various property management systems) with strong attention to detail and with the ability to multi-task
  • At least 21
