Hotel Ambassador

The Strat (Las Vegas, NV)



Ensure that all guests who enter the Hotel/Casino are properly, safely, effectively greeted and/or checked for a room key to enter the rooming area, following all operating procedures, and safety regulations. Provide a fun, hospitable, and safe experience for all guests and ensure they have a positive experience. Follow all security operations and safety procedures without fail and provide exemplary guest service. Consistently demonstrates prompt, courteous, professional service and helpful behavior when interacting with all guests, vendors, and fellow team members.


Essential Functions:                      

  •  Ensure guests entering the Hotel/Casino lobbies are greeted
  • Screen guests who show signs of illness for fever and follow proper protocol if guests appear ill or have fever
  • Maintain head counts of guests entering and exiting the premises to ensure capacity limits are maintained utilizing a handheld electronic device
  • Conduct checks for room keys when patrons attempt to enter the Hotel rooming areas
  • Effectively communicate directions
  • Keep work areas clean and presentable
  • Maintain proper elevator capacities at all times when working in the Hotel lobby area
  • Create a pleasurable experience through small talk and casual conversation with guests
  • Maintain a level of patience with guests (complaints, lost items, general directions) appropriate to the situation at hand. Contact a Security Lead, Supervisor, or Manager as the situation dictates
  • Meet guests upon request to areas on property as appropriate
  • Accurately answer guests’ questions regarding the property, special events, and other Golden Entertainment products and services
  • Ensure unique needs or assistance is provided to all guests requiring special attention
  • Perform all duties with upbeat and positive attitude while maintaining presenting a neat, well-groomed, and professional appearance
  • Maintain familiarity with current life safety systems and emergency evacuation procedures, as well as procedures for handling uncooperative guests and potentially dangerous situations
  • Consistently follow all operating, safety and emergency evacuation procedures
  • Immediately notify Security Dispatch of any defective equipment and/or potential safety hazard(s) encountered
  • Operate two-way hand held radio to communicate with Security Dispatch, Officers, and/or Supervision any issues or suspicious persons attempting to access the building or rooming areas
  • Must attend, and be able to pass, SOCS, and any new Security related training courses that may be added in the future
  • Must take body temperature readings of team members and guest utilizing a non-contact thermometer
  • Perform other duties as assigned 



  • Previous experience in a high volume guest contact position
  • Previous experience interacting with guests without scripted conversation
  • Strong verbal communication
  • Able to maintain calm under pressure and emergency situations
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Able to effectively read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals

  • Working indoors (up to 90% of the time)
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Vision, hearing, literacy and speech (critical)
  • Must attend, and be able to pass, all Security related classes
