Marketing Analyst

Description:

Summary: 

Responsible for mining, segmenting, analyzing, disseminating and maintaining critical marketing information, while identifying new areas of opportunity for growth, particularly in Database Marketing; this intelligence will enrich the decision-making process and provide vital input to future marketing initiatives. Utilizes MS-Excel, MS-OLAP cubes, and extracts data using MS-SQL queries to analyze market research data. Responsible for creating written and visual summaries of findings to be shared with Business Development team and business partners. Responsible for providing conclusions which must be supported with limitations and assumptions in analysis.


Essential Functions:

  • Develops the methodologies and processes of turning customer transaction and player data into actionable information to enhance marketing activities.
  • Utilizes statistical and other quantitative methodologies as well as software tools standard in the industry to provide insightful business analysis.
  • Designs and manages process for collecting/tabulating DM Offer performance, analyzing trends, identifying valuable insights and reporting findings/recommendations company-wide.
  • Outlines comprehensive communication plan for disseminating research findings including periodic state of the business reports for DM Offers.
  • Develops milestones and timelines while managing small-scale improvements
  • Responsible for reviewing and interpreting analytic reports and outlining recommendations and findings to corporate management team for improved net revenue growth
  • Creates summary presentations on analytic findings to be used in regular discussions with property and corporate teams
  • Ensures business development activities align with overall corporate strategies and goals
  • Sets measurable targets to ensure progress and deliver increased net revenue goals based on a known timeline
  • Works directly with property and DM team to implement solutions based on identified business opportunities
  • Supports ad-hoc requests in order to provide answers to business questions
  • Ensures quality, timely, efficient execution of analysis, ad hoc requests and dissemination of findings
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable gaming laws and company internal controls, policies and procedures, Title 31, and federal regulations
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 2+ years prior experience working in same or similar role preferred
  • Prior experience preferred working with and/or in gaming industry preferred
  • Solid written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Previous experience preferred using the following computer programs – MS-SQL, MS-OLAP, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and familiarity with any other statistical software (i.e. SPSS, SAS, R).
  • Strong MS-Excel skills with fluency in Pivot solutions required
  • Self-starter and motivated individual.
  • Must have strong research and analytical skills with ability to sort through large amounts of data
  • Familiarity with statistical concepts including significance, sample size, central tendency, linear regression, and hypothesis testing.
  • College level education with concentration in Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, or Statistics preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to write basic queries against corporate data warehouse solution using MS-TSQL preferred
  • Must be able and willing to adapt to a fluid environment, accept challenges and work proactively on business development initiatives
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously at various stages of development while prioritizing commitments and managing time effectively
  • Must be detail oriented and have the ability to work in a deadline oriented environment, regularly meet/exceed service level agreement requirements, and provide excellent internal customer service
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
