Deli Attendant

Summary: Plan, prep, set up and provide quality service in all areas of the Deli including, but not limited to hot and cold menu items, and desserts in accordance with standards and plating guide specifications. Maintain organization, cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment. Take food and beverage orders, retrieve and serve beverages and food orders to guests courteously and efficiently and ensuring that all charges are properly posted into the POS.

Essential Functions:

  • Check production schedule and pars
  • Transport supplies from the kitchen to the Deli
  • Start prep work and production of items needed for the day
  • Prepare all dishes following recipes and yield guides, according to department standards
  • Inform the Executive Chef or Sous Chef of any shortages before the item runs out.
  • Communicate any assistance needed during busy periods to the Sous Chef to ensure optimum service to guests
  • Maintain proper storage procedures as specified by Health Department and hotel requirements
  • Take food and beverage orders, retrieve and serve beverages and food orders to guests courteously and efficiently
  • Transport empty, dirty pots and pans to the main kitchen station
  • Breakdown work station and complete closing duties according to department standards
  • Clean up and wipe down food prep areas, reach-ins/walk-ins, and shelves
  • Restock items that were depleted during the shift
  • Maintain effective knowledge of P.O.S. and manual system
  • Performs other duties as assigned



  • 2 years experience performing same or similar job duties
  • Ability to effectively communication in English, both written and verbal
  • Excellent guest service skills
  • Compute basic mathematical calculations
  • High school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate preferred
  • Work well under pressure of meeting timelines for guest’s food orders

  • Frequently lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Use tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity.
  • Walk, stand, or crouch on narrow or slippery surfaces.
  • Work for sustained periods of time maintaining concentrated attention to detail.
  • Vision, hearing, speaking, and literacy (critical).
  • Ability to inspect and/or detect odors to ensure product quality and safety.
