Brokerage Coordinator

This position requires critical thinking and strong interpersonal skills and often acts as the liaison between the broker, client, carrier, shipper and receiver, developing solid relationships with all parties to ensure the delivery by providing excellent customer service, and insuring that any issues which might arise are quickly and professionally resolved between the parties. 

Develop and maintain a profitable customer base. Identify, source, qualify, and engage service providers for all Truckload Brokerage solutions. Negotiate rates and secure contracts with service providers, continually evaluate and monitor service performance.


Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Quickly provide T/L rate quotes to customers, working directly with customers on quotes and negotiate pricing for services.
  • Monitor email and electronic load boards.
  • Receive and process shipments according to customer needs, shipment entry, tracking and follow up.
  • Manage daily load activities through discussion with customers and carriers to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Contact assigned existing and potential customers on a determined schedule to develop customer and carrier relations to increase business
  • Generate business through cold calls, qualified leads from existing customers, Dayton Freight and Kelley account reps.
  • Develops. Maintains, and grow customer’s relationships to create a diverse book of business.
  • Strong working knowledge of Transportation Management Systems and other technology related to the brokerage industry.
  • Source, qualify and set up new carriers from start to finish providing timely distribution of information to teams by uploading into the TMS..
  • Secure contractual agreements with new service providers prior to load execution.
  • Accountable for service provider’s performance and pricing accuracy.
  • Research provider performance problems and provide feedback that facilitates resolution.
  • Assist A/R department with any delinquent accounts.
  • Verify and establish customer’s credit.
  • Effectively communicate by phone or e-mail with internal and external customers.
  • Efficiently manage time in a fast-paced environment, ability to quickly change priorities.
  • Multi-tasks by working with multiple software programs to efficiently drive results.
  • Willingness and ability to share knowledge with others.
  • Self-Motivated and have the ability to work well within a team environment.
