Director of Patient Accounting

POSITION SUMMARY:

Directs the overall functions of insurance billing, Accounts Receivable and patient account maintenance.   Establishes and implements controls to ensure appropriate submissions, billing and payment cycles.  Implements appropriate billing procedures, ensuring that the accounts receivable records are kept in accordance with established procedures.  Maintains appropriate internal controls over accounts receivable functions.  Must be able to perform jobs in all patient care and operational areas subject to reasonable accommodations, also be able to employ all mandatory safety devices and procedures.  This is a non-union position. 

Requirements:

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: 

Education: •

Bachelor Degree or equivalent education/experience in Business Administration, Accounting preferred. 

Sufficient previous office management and accounts receivable experience with supervisory responsibilities.

 

Experience:

Experience in working with medical insurance and billing for at least three (3) years;

Must possess strong supervisory experience covering wide range of subordinate activity. 

Must be familiar with all phases of health insurance claims, understanding of information systems pertaining to billing. Must have ability to train personnel.
