Job Description:

The Williamsburg Lodge: Colonial Williamsburg’s newest restaurant serves American cuisine with contemporary southern and Chesapeake influences, plus a popular Friday night seafood buffet. The new lounge and bar is appealing for lively discussion, enjoying a televised sporting event, or quiet reflection by the original 1939 fireplace.

Maintain sanitation of station.
Prepare basic food items to support the restaurant and Banquet kitchen on the daily prep lists.
Man Chef action stations for breakfast, lunch and dinner meals periods as scheduled.
Prepare salads, vegetables, starches, for ala carte and buffet service in an open kitchen.  
Prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner meal periods, both buffet and ala Carte.
Plate desserts for restaurant and Banquet kitchen.
Assist in the plating of all courses in the banquet kitchen as needed.
Assist in outside catering if requested. 

Job Requirements:

Certificate in Culinary Arts from a technical school.
At least 1 year restaurant cooking experience (formal culinary training will substitute for 1 year work experience on an equal time basis).
Willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays ranging from 5 a.m. to midnight 
Successful candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a current Williamsburg James City County food handler’s card; applicants with an active food handler's card should be prepared to present it during the interview process.

Ability to: (1) interact with guests and co-workers in a professional manner; (2) read food orders and production charts; (3) maintain standards listed below

 STANDARDS: Maintain a positive, enthusiastic outlook; smile and greet guests, employees, managers, and supervisors; show respect for and cooperate at all times with those for whom and with whom you work; report to work as scheduled and on time; meet appearance standards; perform assigned tasks accurately and on time.

Physical requirements include, but are not limited to: (1) transporting weights up to 50 pounds; (2) working while standing for long periods of time.
