Concierge/Front Desk - Lodge


Job Description:

The Concierge (front desk) provides a high level of guest service by graciously providing guests with assistance before, during and after their visit.

The Concierge maintains professional appearance; offers friendly and professional greeting to all guests; makes dining and ticketing reservations as requested to CW restaurants and events as well as to restaurants and events outside of CW; makes arrangements for all welcome amenities sent from Guest Service Manager for special guests; maintains/creates weekly guest recognition VIP calendar; arranges additional amenities based on guest's requests; responsible for pre-visit calls and emails to guests with upcoming reservations; uses this opportunity to both ensure that the guests have an exceptional experience as well as upsell CW products and services; creates Daily Activity Card that is placed in guest rooms at turndown; prepares dining and spa confirmation cards, pre-prints guest tickets and prepares welcome envelopes with this information for arriving guests; assist guests in the planning of special occasions, to include shopping for anniversary and birthday gifts; assists guests on a daily basis with creating itineraries for their visit to include setting up private tours when applicable; assist guests with making hotel and travel arrangements (this includes, but is not limited to, local transportation, airport transportation, driving directions and printing boarding passes).

The Concierge orders office supplies and brochures; assist guests with food and beverage offering, hours of operations of in-house and CW restaurants; Serve as greeter in lobby when necessary and carries out all reasonable requests from management; and displays exceptional relationship skills with our guests by developing a rapport with them and by modeling all Marriott standards.

Job Requirements:

Direct Guest service experience;

Projects a positive image and demonstrates courteous, dedicated and professional performance;

Can effectively use all computer programs specific to the concierge department (dining, ticketing, Hotel PMS);

Ability to handle guest complaints with a professional and courteous manner;

Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in written format with guests and other departments;

Familiarity of the area within a 150 mile radius;

Ability to seek and find answers.  

Preferred:  Thorough knowledge of Colonial Williamsburg and other local attractions; and experience in a four or five star resort environment.
