JOB DESCRIPTION:

In a walk up sales environment, assists guests in selecting the admission ticket that best meets their needs while maximizing revenue for the Foundation
 
Provides information on programs, lodging and dining facilities, retail sales, etc., to help guests create the optimum Colonial Williamsburg experience
 
Processes sales transactions using a computerized ticketing system
 
Collects and secures all types of payment methods, and maintain accuracy of cash handling and other financial transactions
 
Provides exceptional customer service by interacting with diverse groups of people in a friendly and outgoing manner 
 


JOB REQUIREMENTS:

New hires will start at a training rate of $9.05 per hour. Upon successful completion of training and demonstration of ability to perform core competencies, rate will change to $10.00 per hour.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to: (1) quickly learn the geography of the area in order to provide comprehensive directions, (2) assimilate large amounts of information and organize it to respond to guest needs, (3) follow oral and written instructions, (4) work individually and as a team member, (5) lift and carry up to 25 pounds, (6) stand and walk for extended periods and distances, (7) solve problems, make decisions and handle multiple priorities, and (8) present verbal information to individuals and large groups

Must have basic computer knowledge

Ability to work a variety of locations and shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays

Possess or have the potential to gain quickly the core competencies usually gained through completion of a high school education or G.E.D.
