Job Title:   Business System Analyst I

    • Responsible for analyzing reported failures and requests, utilizing decision analysis techniques (Incident Management).
    • Responsible for managing small to medium service requests including ESRs (Extended Service Requests), which includes the scope, requirements, management of resources, testing and coordinating the promotion of these requests into production.
    • Identify the impact and urgency required to assign priority to the day to day reported issues ensuring compliance to assigned Service Level Agreements (SLA’s).
    • Identify problems utilizing judgment call when a workaround is available and a permanent solution needs to be provided for a recurring issues.
    • Perform diagnosis utilizing root cause analysis techniques to determine the original cause of incidents and /or problems, in order to implement permanent solutions.
    • Provide Functional and Technical Specifications required for solutions.
    • Provide accurate descriptions that clearly relay user and system needs, as well as supporting documentation necessary for resolution and future reference.
    • Organize, manage, and track multiple detailed tasks and requests with frequently changing priorities
    • Coordinate resolution with in-house staff and/or vendors in a timely manner.
    • Assist in testing system changes and monitor its final resolution once in production.
    • Maintain accurate and detailed history of all work in progress.
    • Responsible for overseeing and collaborating in the quality completion of the Virtual Technical Documents related to
                  respective implementations or system changes.
    • Communicate the status of relevant incidents on a timely and periodic basis.
    • To identify, evaluate, monitor and make any recommendation deemed necessary to their respective Risk Management committee in order to assess, reduce, eliminate or control any current or prospective risks to earnings or capital arising from violations of, or nonconformance with, laws, rules regulations, prescribed practices, internal policies and procedures or ethical standards.

Functional Skills & Knowledge Requirements:
Must be a team player, have the ability to work under pressure, have a professional image and be able to resolve problems and conflicts. Must be able to prioritize work and effectively manage time. Must possess basic business communications skills such as advanced writing, listening and have basic office and mathematics skills, and customer service skills. Possession of professional skills such as report writing, basic statistics, effective presentation skills and creative skills are required. 
Minimum Education and/or Certifications Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Management Info Systems or equivalent experience
Minimum Work Experience Requirements: One to three years experience in actively completing some or all of the
required tasks (See page 1) within a banking or information systems
Technical and/or Other Essential Knowledge:
  • Technical  – Conceptual knowledge of programming, AS/400 utilities and core banking processes and applications
  • Critical Thinking  – Ability to focus on new problems and determine solutions with expected results
  • Organizational – Ability to prioritize and multi task
  • Attention to detail – Ability to accurately maintain records of progress and final resolution
  • Communication – Ability to communicate to resolve issues of moderate complexity.  Communicates well with users.
  • Leadership – Ability to work productively both in team environment and independently
  • Previous experience with Lotus Notes, Internet and MS Office Skills, including MS Word Advanced, MS Excel Advanced and MS Powerpoint Level II required.
Working Conditions: Physical Demands:  75% of the time sitting at a desk utilizing a computer. 
25% walking to and from other departments
Stressors:  Deadlines, Urgent Resolution of daily issues, Telephone interruptions.
