At the direction of the Behavioral Health Director, and in his/her absence, the Psychologist performs clinical assistance to behavioral health patients and their families. Patients may be self-referrals, referred from medical centers, or referred internally from the Clinic health professionals. Partners with psychiatric and allied teams, as well as Clinic health professionals, in the diagnosis, creation, and maintenance of the patient care plan. Works within the requirements of department programs, as well as applicable IHS Grants for Native Americans, and fulfills community health objectives as dictated by these programs and/or grants


License Requirements:

  • Must possess a current and unrestricted Clinical Psychologist license.
  • Psychologist license issued by an accredited and acceptable Board of California.


  • Must have a minimum of one (1) year of experience in a health care setting.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Possess a warm, caring attitude.
  • Experience and sensitivity in working with culturally diverse communities, including the ability to relate to and understand the special and specific needs of Native Americans.
  • Ability to assist a patient in distress.
  • Professional appearance and attitude.
  • Strong commitment to the mission, policies and goals of the Clinic.
