Benefits Manager



The Benefits Manager is responsible for developing and managing the company’s health and welfare benefits programs, providing an attractive and cost effective package of employee benefits. Plans and directs the day-to-day operations of group benefit programs, employee leave of absence, and other employee benefit programs in compliance with Chumash policies and Federal and/or State employment laws. Plans and executes benefit related projects, programs, and initiatives. Directs and manages the Benefits staff.



 • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related discipline 


 • Five years of experience with benefits administration concepts, practices, and procedures. 

Additional Requirements:

• CEBS designation preferred

• In depth knowledge of applicable human resources law, regulations, rules, procedures, and administration including the ACA, FMLA, CFRA, PFL, and state disability.

• In depth knowledge of leave of absence administration

• Computer proficiency and technical aptitude. Strong ability to with Microsoft Office applications, e-mail and Internet.  

• Bilingual preferred.

• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to deal tactfully, confidently, and ethically with internal customers and vendors.

• Able to think critically, solve problems, plan and organize activities, effectively communicate verbally and in writing.

• Analytical skills necessary to make decisions and resolve issues inherent to handling claims.

• Exceptional detail and follow-up skills.

• Multi-task oriented.  Able to effectively establish priorities and meet deadlines.

• Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency.

• Native American hiring preference applies.
