Pastry Chef

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Pastry Chef Manages and organizes the activities of the Pastry Department to maintain the highest standards of food quality, cost control, and consistency.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education.

  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
  • Two-year Culinary Arts Degree.

Additional Requirements.

  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Four years of pastry experience required, preferably in a Lead capacity or higher within a 4-5 diamond establishment.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, in order to provide clear direction to the pastry team.
  • Able to execute and train all baking and pastry disciplines to the highest levels.
  • Proficient with the use of kitchen tools and equipment, baking skills and measurements.
  • Must be able to organize, plan, estimate, and use basic math skills to plan production.
  • Must be able to properly handle and store all pastry smallware tools and knives.
  • Able to follow and/or convert recipes.
  • Must be able to plan and supervise the daily operations of the kitchen.
  • Must be able to produce quality products on a consistent basis.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
