Assists in the management of nursing and hospital activities in the absence of Department Directors and Administrative personnel. The House Supervisor is responsible for promoting and ensuring excellence in customer care and service in conjunction with the guidelines and procedures of the hospital. In the absence of the Department Directors, the House Supervisor will facilitate the flow of patients through the continuum of care. The House Supervisor is responsible for notifying Department Directors of issues impacting or affecting their department, patient flow or a service line. The House Supervisor is responsible for keeping the Chief Nurse Executive and/or other hospital administrators apprised of actual or potential situation that impact patient care and/or hospital associates. The House Supervisor will facilitate intra-departmental operations to provide optimal outcomes for our patients. In the event Administrative personnel are unavailable, the House Supervisor will act and respond on their behalf to ensure safe operations of the hospital.
Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing with a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas. Baccalaureate degree or current enrollment in a baccalaureate program preferred. Must have current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications. Two to five years management experience including patient care management. Demonstrates leadership ability, able to work under stressful situations. Possesses good oral and written communication skills. Demonstrates interpersonal relationships in a manner that enhances communication, promotes conflict resolution and facilitates positive outcomes for patients, staff, visitors and the hospital. Current American Heart Associate certifications in BLS and ACLS required.
