Job Description:
I. Position purpose / scope: o Provides direct service to guests by taking orders for food and beverage, suggestive selling, describing menu items, delivering ordered items, preparing itemized checks, collecting payment, maintaining table set ups, preparing non-alcoholic beverages and minor food incidentals in a friendly and upbeat manner. o Also assists in maintaining sanitary standards of the restaurant. o Completes side work (stocking, cleaning) as posted. II. Functions and responsibilities: Essential: o Greets guests in a polite and friendly manner o Suggests and sells food and beverage (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) items to guests o Answers guests questions about menu, restaurant and casino promotions o Receives order from guests and correctly enters it into Micros system o Prepares and delivers non-alcoholic beverages o Delivers food and alcoholic beverages to guests o Prepares condiments, soups, garnishes and starches for guest orders o Checks guest satisfaction with dining choices o Presents guest with properly prepared itemized check o Receives payment from guest and delivers it to Cashier o Thanks guest for dining and extends invitation to return o Maintains table organization and cleanliness o Maintains sanitary condition of the restaurant o Clears and resets tables upon guest departure (Server or busser) o Polishes service ware o Folds napkins and silverware roll ups o Maintains cleanliness of service stations o Completes side work (stocking, cleaning) as posted o Creates a comfortable and hospitable atmosphere for guests o Communicates with Bus Persons, Cooks, Chefs and Managers about guest needs Non-essential: o Assists Hosts with arranging dining room furniture o Assists Hosts with greeting and seating guests o Answers telephones o Assists Bus Persons with cleaning and setting tables

Knowledge and skill requirements: Essential: o Fluent in verbal and written English o Possesses valid Techniques of Alcohol Management Card o Knows proper service of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages o Possesses valid Clark County Health Department Health Permit o Knows basic operational food service sanitation regulations o Carries trays for service of Food & Beverage o Uses Micros computer point of sale system or equivalent o Knows restaurant menu, food descriptions, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage choices o Able to follow verbal and written instructions o Able to suggestively sell food & beverage choices o Must be 21 years of age o High School Diploma or equivalent preferred o Knows restaurant specials, casino promotions and special events o Must have six months experience as a full service ala carte restaurant server Non-essential: o Bilingual proficiency in verbal and written communications is a plus. o Culinary experience
