Job Description:
Position Purpose & Scope: 
  • Greets guests and suggestively sells food, non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages
  • Properly processes cash, comp, credit card and other transaction types
  • Directly resolves guest complaints
  • Passes foods from Cooks directly to guests
  • Works in a very high customer volume environment, serving several thousand guests per day
  • Communicates with management in a timely manner regarding guest questions, comments and issues
  • Interacts with the culinary staff to ensure smooth flow of operations
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by management
  • Portions, plates and serves already prepared foods, ice cream, non-alcoholic beverages and draft beer
  • Prepares gourmet coffee beverages, shakes and smoothies
  • Maintains a clean work area in accordance with established standards and procedures
  • Maintains general cleanliness of dining area, tables, beverage and condiment stations

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Greets guests with a smile, friendly manner and a polite salutation
  • Anticipates special needs such as carrying trays and assists guests
  • Answers any questions guests may have
  • Utilizes warm, friendly and diplomatic skills to answer guest inquiries
  • Knows and can communicate information about venues and menus
  • Tenders all guest transactions
  • Reports to Chefs and Managers all food compliments and FOH challenges (quality, timing, temperature) in a timely manner
  • Handles large sums of money, coupons, comps, credit cards and other forms of payment
  • Properly prepares daily drops for cage
  • Inquires about guest satisfaction when bussing tables
  • Wishes guest fond farewell as they depart the restaurant
  • Performs posted side work and other duties as directed by management
  • Maintains a safe and clean environment for guests and co-workers
  • Picks up debris and cleans spills or grease on the floor
  • Offers guests comment cards at the conclusion of the dining experience
  • Communicates with Lead Cashiers Hosts, Cashier Hosts, Managers, Cooks and Chefs about guest requests
  • Informs kitchen of arrival of large parties
  • Cleans tables, chairs and anything else assigned by management in a timely manner
  • Properly portions and assembles on plates (or other serving vessels) ready to eat foods including but not limited to pizza, Italian entrees, soups, ice cream, gourmet coffee, non-alcoholic beverages, draft beer, country style entrees and sides, sandwiches, pastries & baked goods. 
  • Passes prepared food from Cooks to guests
  • Sweeps floors
  • Maintains and uses computerized point-of-sale terminal for closing customer transactions.
  • Supplies guests with information on services and events happening on property
  • Listens to guests comments and resolves complaints
  • Maintains a safe environment for fellow employees and guests
  • Calls Manager on Duty to report any immediate concerns
  • Communicates with other shifts to inform them of operational needs
  • Use departmental cleaning and sanitizing chemicals per OSHA, departmental and manufacturer operating standards
  • Informs management of any product shortages, equipment failures or staffing issues in a timely manner
  • Moves tables and chairs in preparation for various party sizes
  • Cleans Cashier counters, other equipment and floors
  • Checks guest identification to ensures guests are of the legal age to serve alcohol
  • Suggestively sells specials and promotions to guests
  • Requests proper payment from guest where applicable
  • Assists all other team members as necessary in order to provide the best guest service
  • Adheres to all check settlement and food & beverage control procedures
  • Maintains departmental standards of greeting times and quality of service
  • Adheres to all state and local laws referencing the service of food & beverage
  • Entertains guests through polite, professional, friendly conversation
  • Completes daily side work
  • Ensures compliance to all company, Washington County and OSHA rules and regulations as they pertain to the position
  • Maintains clean, well-groomed appearance
  • Maintains sanitary personal hygiene
  • Completes all other job related duties as assigned
  • Reports facilities issues to Management
  • Calls Security for all guest or employee injuries or other Security concerns
  • Resolves guest comp issues
  • Contacts (by phone and in person) Casino Hosts, Player Club and Tables Games Pit in order to resolve guest issue
  • Other tasks as assigned by Management
  • Works special events as volunteered for or assigned
  • Is able to learn quickly intricacies of all venues
  • Is able to learn menu items and readily explain products and portions to guests 
Job Requirements:
Essential Knowledge, Skill and Licensure Requirements:
  • Must be able to obtain a Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board license
  • Possession of TIPS or TAM certification
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have valid original copy of birth certificate or passport
  • Requires knowledge of Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture – Department of Food Safety and Sanitation regulations
  • Required to be able to read, write and verbally communicate fluently in English
  • Must be able to work well in a team environment
  • Must be personable, warm, friendly and outgoing
  • Must be able to accurately handle cash, count change and process all other tender methods
  • Must be able to complete one guest transaction completely through the point of sale system within 45 seconds.
  • Requires knowledge of cleaning chemicals used in daily performance of duties, their purpose, ratios, toxic value and course of action if ingestion or unprotected contact is made with the chemical/s.
  • Must have basic computer literacy, including 3 months experience using electronic point of sale systems

Non-Essential Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
  • Basic knowledge of sanitary food handling procedures
  • Possession of Serve Safe certification preferred
  • 3 months work experience in a fast paced, high volume customer service position recommended

  • Reports directly to the Assistant Restaurant Managers
  • Reports in succession to Restaurant Manager, Food & Beverage Manager, Director of Food and Beverage, Assistant General Manager, General Manager
  • Indirectly reports in succession to Assistant Food & Beverage Department Managers, Food & Beverage Department Managers
  • May be supervised by a Lead Cashier Host
  • Continuously interacts, assists and works as an integral part of a team with EVS, Security and all Casino Personnel
  • Occasionally interacts with Bartenders, Engineering and Maintenance staff, Entertainment, Health Inspectors, Employee Relations and OSHA inspectors
