Job Description:
 The primary responsibilities of the Database Administrator consist of database installation, performance monitoring and regular maintenance.  Additionally, Technical application support, manipulation and/or extraction of application data for use in reports and support and development of all application interfaces.   The Database Administrator will be responsible for maintaining secure environments on all systems for separate testing, training and live environments.  Responsible for monitoring and ensuring adequate backup, storage and recovery procedures and processes for all CCR databases.  Responsible for designing, building, and maintaining database entry systems and interface programs as necessary.  Will work with database tools to move data between diverse systems.  Responsible for data and process design relating to building and supporting the companies data warehouse, ETL processes, CRM databases, BI data sets and reporting services.   Will analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve all issues relating to the performance and/or integrity of data within application interfaces. Responsible for the production of a variety of specialized reports using a number of different report writer products and/or BI toolsets.  Responsible for assisting with all application upgrades and for the continual support and monitoring of all data interfaces between the organizations various systems. Responsible for performing necessary data file purges and for modifying or fixing data files or data records that are in error or corrupted. Will document and perform regular database maintenance procedures to insure efficient performance of applications.
  • Modify existing databases and database management systems or direct programmers and analysts to make changes.
  • Test programs or databases, correct errors and make necessary modifications.
  • Plan, coordinate and implement security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure.
  • Approve, schedule, plan, and supervise the installation and testing of new products and improvements to computer systems, such as the installation of new databases.
  • Train users and answer questions.
  • Specify users and user access levels for each segment of database.
  • Develop, document and maintain data models and data dictionaries describing data elements and how/where they are used. 
  • Develop methods for integrating different products so they work properly together, such as customizing commercial databases to fit specific needs.
  • Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project.
  • Review procedures in database management system manuals for making changes to database.
  • Work as part of a project team to coordinate database development and determine project scope and limitations.
  • Identify and evaluate industry trends in database systems to serve as a source of information and advice for upper management.
  • Must be able to respond quickly, including when on-call, to troubleshoot and repair failures preventing customer access to critical applications throughout the organization.
  • Required to have expertise in a wide range of software applications, databases and operating systems, which are critical to the daily operations of the organization.
  • Responsible for the timely resolution of all issues caused by database errors, viruses and data corruption which may result in loss of profits, downtime, or have any other negative impact on the organization.
  • Must analyze problems to determine the cause and design plans to fix these problems.
  • Must be familiar with various data modeling techniques and data normalization.
  • Must be familiar with a variety of hardware, operating systems, and database platforms to be able to obtain or move data between the different platforms.
  • Performs ongoing analysis of database performance and archiving and data purges for software applications.
  • Must have a detailed understanding of both accounting and marketing processes in order to provide management and end-users throughout organization access to database information via specialized reports.
  • Creates and/or maintains all application interfaces, including the documentation pertaining to the interface programs.
  • Performs all file fixes utilizing operating system tools and application specific tools.
  • Must be able to install and maintain without assistance all database products in use by the organization on multi-user networked file servers.
  • Must be able to fix database corruption and or errors on any of the organizations primary business systems without assistance from other IT staff.
  • Will assist other Database and Business Analysts in the resolution of complex database, interface, programming, or application issues.
  • Must have proven expertise in maintaining all of the organizations various application interfaces, and must maintain updated documentation of these interfaces.
  • May be required to travel to different company locations to perform duties.
  • Will frequently be a part of IT team(s) working on numerous large-scale projects that require coordination among and from all team members and vendors.   This will include project and solution analysis, design, testing, scheduling, communicating updates, coordinating other IT staff and working closely with vendors to successfully implement solutions.
  • Required to continuously update technical skills and knowledge, including the update of technical certifications, in a rapidly changing technical environment.

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer related field plus 3 - 5 years experience in database administration in large business environment.
  • Expertise and experience, including certifications and experience in Microsoft SQL database products
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM is preferred
  • One or more years experience using Informatica ETL, data quality and MDM is required
  • Requires proven concentration and experience in using I.T. tools and software including a detailed understanding of programming, databases and database systems.
  • Experience and understanding of the gaming and hospitality industry
  • Proficient and familiar with industry software/database systems including Aristocrat Oasis, Oasis360, IGT Advantage, LMS and Micros is preferred, and these will become a requirement of the position.
  • Required proficiency in all Microsoft Office products
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, manage and carry out simultaneously a variety of complex projects and tasks.
  • Must have well-rounded analysis and report writing skills using computer software tools and Microsoft SQL databases.
  • Must maintain complete confidentiality regarding records, documentation, reports and other information related to company information.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and must demonstrate patience, tact, and respect.
  • Ability to quickly evaluate alternatives and decide on a plan of action.
