I. Position purpose / scope: This position is responsible for the following duties: o Greet guests o Inquire about seating preference o Take guest to desired seating area o Tender transactions (including cash, credit card, comp, coupon, room charge and gift certificate) o Maintain cleanliness of restaurant including dusting and sweeping o Communicates with food servers, managers, cooks and chefs about guest requests II. Functions and responsibilities: Essential: o Smiles and provides warm greeting to guests o Inquires about guests seating preferences o Walks guests to desired seating areas o Pulls out chairs o Informs guests of who their server will be o Tenders all transactions including cash, credit card, comp, coupon, room charge and gift certificate o Maintains cleanliness of restaurant including dusting and sweeping o Assists with monthly inventory counts o Answers any questions guests may have o Utilizes warm, friendly and diplomatic telephone skills to take reservations, guest inquiries, room service and to go orders o Knows what stations are open and which Servers are in each station o Properly and fairly rotates seating to avoid over loading Food Servers o Tenders all guest transactions o Handles large sums of money, credit cards, comps, coupons and other guest transactions o Properly prepares daily drops for cage o Inquires about guest satisfaction upon guest departing o Performs posted side work and other duties as directed by management o Maintains a safe and clean environment for guests and co-workers o Picks up debris and cleans-up any spills or grease on the floor o Offers guests comment cards at the conclusion of the dining experience o Communicates with Food Servers, Managers, Cooks and Chefs about guest requests o Informs kitchen of arrival of large parties o Cleans menus, table tents, condiment caddies, high chairs and anything else assigned o Sweeps floors o Explains layout of Buffet and makes specific food recommendations o Organizing waiting queue and greets guests prior to them arriving at Cashier o Confirms the number of properly paid guests with the table request o Get high chairs for guests Non-essential: o Assist Bus Persons and Servers in maintaining tables o Polishes service ware o Posts daily specials on restaurant black boards and changes specials cards on table tents o Informs guests about casino promotions and special events
III. Knowledge and skill requirements: Essential: o Fluent in verbal and written English o Possesses valid Clark County Health Department Health Permit o Repeatedly performs basic math skills (addition & subtraction) for calculating change without calculator assistance o Must have three months computer experience, preferably Micros or equivalent point of sale system o Knows basic operational food service sanitation regulations o Able to follow verbal and written instructions o Able to suggest and sell beverage choices o High School Diploma or equivalent preferred o Knows restaurant specials, casino promotions and special events o Must have either three months experience working in a physically demanding, fast paced environment or extra-curricular environment Non-essential: o Bilingual proficiency in verbal and written communications is a plus.
