Job Description:
  1. Position purpose / scope:
          This position is responsible for maintaining the grounds and garage floors; shampooing, 
          stripping, waxing, buffing, scrubbing, etc. Duties include:
  • Vacuum carpet prior to and after shampooing
  • Clean splashes from baseboards, furniture and drop boxes
  • Clean carpets and hard wood floors according to established procedure
  • Report emergency situations and/or repairs to Supervisor
  • Perform dusting, mopping and pan sweeping as necessary
  • Provide service and information to guests in a friendly manner
  • Requires climbing ten feet or more
  1. Functions and responsibilities:
  • Complete all projects assigned by the EVS Supervisor or the Lead.
  • Report facility problems and required preventive maintenance to the Supervisor or the Lead.
  • Make sure all assigned duties are completed according to the time line.
  • Clean assigned area as instructed in procedure manual.
  • Clean all areas that are not qualified to be done by casino porters, such as, to clean areas that need assistance of a ladder.
  • Clean walls, ceiling, and vents.
  • Strip and wax all floors.
  • Run machines such as sweepers and auto scrubbers.
  • Take spots out of carpet as necessary.  
  • Other job related duties as assigned.  
Job Requirements:
  1. Knowledge and skill requirements:
  • Must have knowledge and be familiar with the use of all carpet cleaning equipment (extractor, pile lift) as well as the use of all carpet cleaning chemicals.
  • Must have one year recent experience in operating a carpet extractor
  • Must have knowledge of all carpet cleaning chemicals
  • Must have knowledge and be familiar with the use of all hard floor maintenance equipment (burnisher, side by side buffer) including proper knowledge of all chemicals used in the maintenance of hard floors.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to logically and independently plan, organize and complete work.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of all cleaning procedures, equipment and supplies.
  • Understand and comply with all company and departmental rules and regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationship with staff. 
  • Tolerate presence and or use of chemicals, cleaners, and solvents.
  • Requires climbing ladders and stairs.
  • Requires eye/hand coordination.
  • Regular, predictable attendance required.
  • Minimum recent one year Utility Porter experience required in a fast moving environment
  • Bilingual proficiency in verbal and written communications is a plus.
  • Customer service experience preferred.
