Job Description:
  1. Position purpose / scope:
          This position is responsible for checking guests in and out of the Hotel and verifying                accounts. Other duties include:
  • Collecting proper cash and/or credit card
  • Accommodating guest’s requests as needed
  • Handling guest’s complaints
  • Posting room charges, paid outs and corrections
  • Signing in and signing out of individual bank
  • Balancing posting at the end of the shift
  • Preparing reports as requested
  • Sell tickets for events
  1. Functions and responsibilities:
  • Responsible for sign-in and sign-out of money from the cashier 
  • Check guests in upon arrival 
  • Post money, room charges, paid outs, and corrections 
  • Check guests out upon departure 
  • Prepare a correct and complete cash turn-in bag 
  • Prepare reports as requested 
  • Assist guests with information as requested
  • Handle guest complaints as needed
  • Sell and collect money for event tickets
  • Maintain knowledge of all events in the Casino and Hotel
  • Provide excellent guest service
  • Page hotel administrative employees by beeper system 
  • Make hotel reservations
  • Page guests as necessary in Casino
  • Treats guests and co-workers with respect and dignity. 
Job Requirements:
  1. Knowledge and skill requirements:
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Ability to operate front desk system, ticketing system, 10-key by touch addition machine, and type 35 wpm 
  • Understand and comply with all company and departmental rules, regulations, policies and procedures 
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English 
  • Ability to perform basic math 
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff and customers 
  • High School education or equivalent required.
  • Customer service experience preferred 
  • Bilingual proficiency in verbal and written communications is a plus.
  1. Physical requirements:
  • Requires mobility. 
  • Requires prolonged standing.   
  • Requires the use of office equipment, such as via multi-line hotel telephone system, computer, calculator, fax machine and copy machines. 
  • Requires reaching up to 24 inches.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. 
  • Requires kneeling.
  • Requires the ability to distinguish letters, number, and symbols.
  • Requires hand/eye coordination.
  • Regular, predictable attendance required.
  • Requires normal vision range and absence of color blindness.
  • Ability to work in areas which may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, smoky, dimly lit or illuminated.
