I. Position Purpose: The primary purpose of this position is to collate and input data generated by the Floor Supervisors, for the purpose of tracking player activity in the Table Games department. To assist the Floor Supervisors in generating/paying-off table markers, ordering fills and credits, issuing of player rating cards. General filing of required paperwork. Working in accordance with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry’s Curriculum Guidelines and the PGCB’s minimum proficiency requirements.
II. Functions and Responsibilities: Essential: Data input - player ratings, openers/closers etc. Generation/Payment of table markers Ordering table “fills/credits” Data input of new players for issuing of player rating cards Hourly count of players - helps determine future staffing requirements Re-stocking of pit supplies - rating cards, table inventory cards, etc... Filing of 24 hour period paperwork Communicating with Shift Managers, Floor Supervisors, and Main Cage III. Knowledge and Skill Requirements: Essential: Basic computer skills Knowledge and understanding of 10-key and typing techniques Basic understanding of casino operation Excellent communication skills with the ability to read, write, and speak in English Communication/interaction with peers both within, and outside, the department Ability to work with minimal supervision Recognition and correction of data errors Knowledge and awareness of Title 31 guidelines IV. Physical Requirements: Essential: 50% standing, 30% sitting, 20% walking Proficient typing skills Carrying and/or lifting up to 20lbs Normal range of hearing and vision Normal range of hand mobility and dexterity Normal range of mobility of neck/arms/hands Ability to concentrate on tasks Work to dead-lines in an often fast-paced environment Ability and willingness to work in a loud, smoky environment. V. Relationships: Casino guests Shift Managers and Assistant Shift Managers Floor Supervisors Casino Cage employees Player’s Club employees Casino dealers Casino Security VI. Measures of Performance: Inputting of player ratings - 300-400 per 8 hour shift Completing necessary paperwork to a deadline Number of mistakes made that affected customers or a loss of revenue Carrying out duties with minimal supervision VII. Impact on Revenues and Profit The Pit Clerk helps ensure that the Table Games department runs smoothly and efficiently. Error-free issuance/payment of table markers gets the players “in-action” quicker, thus optimizing revenue potential and, maintaining good customer service which reflects in repeat business. The heavy interaction with the Floor Supervisors allows them (the Floor Supervisors) to conduct their duties’ in a more efficient manner, and thus helps minimize possible hold-ups with regards to table fills, player rating cards, comp availability and, general customer service; all of which is reflected in revenue and profit potential. The expedient inputting of rating data has a direct relationship with customer service, especially when “giveaway qualifications” are necessary for the customer to receive their reward for playing.
