Beverage Shift Manager

Job Description

The Beverage Shift Manager has the primary responsibility for management of Casino Beverage staff; trains and evaluates employees.

  • Acts as a role model to all team members and always presents oneself as a credit to Borgata and encourages others to do the same.
  • Dedicated to ensuring service commitments, standards/expectations, financial goals, and policies/procedures are consistently upheld.
  • Adheres to the Borgata's Policies and Procedures.
  • Has primary responsibility for management of Casino Beverage staff; trains and evaluates employees.
  • Ensures accurate recordkeeping at all times.
  • Hires and discharges employees according to established personnel policies and procedures. Implements and adheres to all beverage cost control procedures.
  • Ensures preparation of all drinks and cocktails according to recipes.
  • Uses reporting tools to ensure department costs at acceptable levels.
  • Recommends specialty drink recipes and other merchandising concepts to the Director of Casino Beverage.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Borgata’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned.
  • Creates and ensures a fresh, positive and exciting environment where sanitation, flawless delivery and execution of product excellence and service are paramount.
  • Willing to take continuing training and education classes offered at Borgata or outside institutions.
  • Follows all OSHA and safety guidelines set forth by the Borgata.
  • Is knowledgeable of and adheres to health and sanitation guidelines at all times.
  • Demonstrates a courteous, friendly, polite, congenial and efficient attitude.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility.
  • Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for compliance with all regulatory requirements within area of responsibility.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One to three years supervisory experience in Beverage
  • Understanding of Fire Codes and Health Codes
