Specialty Restaurant Host - Angeline

Job Description

The Specialty Restaurant Host controls the flow of the restaurant through awareness of business needs/volumes, station assignments, breaks, etc. Creates and ensures a fun-filled, entertaining and exciting environment where the flawless delivery and execution of service excellence is paramount. 

  • Works diligently to support the S.H.O.W. Service Basic Standards culture and team philosophy throughout the property 

  • Adhere to established company and departmental procedures, guidelines and policies at all times 

  • Must have knowledge of Food and Wine and have the ability to suggest and promote items relating to the specific fine dining outlet 

  • Knowledge of multiple cuisines and the ability to promote and suggest available dinning outlets 

  • Maintain established company and departmental uniform, appearance, and hygiene standards at all times. 

  • Maintain a clean and organized work station at all times 

  • Side work duties must be completed as assigned and also completed in an efficient, accurate, and timely manner 

  • Must be knowledgeable of The Borgata and all it has to offer 

  • Answering phones according to established standards 

  • Booking of reservations utilizing the company reservation system 

  • Assist with station assignments, rotation planning, and opening/closing/securing the room at shift change or according to established hours of operation, etc. 

  • Report all situations to a manager or relief personnel in a timely manner 

  • Ability to multi-task including but not limited to answering the phone, greeting guests, rearranging reservations, etc. 

  • Awareness of all activities in the dining room 

  • Knowledge of safety/guest liability procedures for guests and employees 

  • Station assignments covering large areas with long walking distances 

  • Use of radios with headsets and earpieces for communication may be utilized in designated outlets. 

  • Proper radio and telephone etiquette is mandatory 

Job Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of six months experience as a host/hostess in a high volume and/or fine dining environment
