Security Supervisor

Job Description

Works diligently to support the S.H.O.W. Service Basic Standards culture and team philosophy throughout the department and the property of Borgata.

Acts as a role model to all team members and always presents oneself as a credit to Borgata and encourages others to do the same

Promotes positive public relations and creates and enjoyable atmosphere for all customers

Under Direction, to supervise the operations of the Security Department on an assigned shift and area to maintain a safe and secure environment for our customers, team members and company assets

Supervise, plan and schedule security activities for the Security Officers as directed by management

Assign work to assigned Security Officers and establish priorities

Respond to all non-routine incidents in a supervisory capacity ensuring appropriate action is taken and notifications are made

Supervise and evaluate Security reports for accuracy and completeness

Ensure all incidents are thoroughly investigated and appropriate action is taken and proper notifications are made

Responsible for training Security personnel on shift

Conduct follow-up investigations on reports as directed

Acts in relation to team members, customers and/or the general public in a manner consistent with the best interests of the organization

Assure that Casino Control Commission regulations and requirements are met and followed by all Security personnel

Determine and recommend changes to improve Security operations

Complete incident reports detailing incidents that occur on property

Complies with all departmental and Company Policies including Borgata’s business ethics guidelines

Complies with all New Jersey regulatory requirements

Exposure to casino related environmental factors including but not limited to second hand smoke, excessive noise and stress related to servicing customers in a high pressure and fast paced environment

Requires acute sense of smell and sound, ability to talk on and hear a two-way radio and telephone

Visual Acuity correctable to 20/20, normal color, peripheral and night vision

Tolerate varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination and air quality

Must be able to stand for an entire shift and be able to move throughout the Casino/Hotel areas

Must be able to work under adverse conditions, including overtime, evenings, weekends, holidays and testify in court on and off duty

Contact with team members and customers 

Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required

Must be at least 21 years of age

Preferred three years’ experience in casino security or law enforcement field

One year experience in a supervisory position required

Ability to plan, organize work and train security staff in the performance of their duties

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Borgata's policies and applicable laws

Advanced customer service and problem solving skills as well as the ability to speak, read and write in English

Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills required

Proficient at investigating incidents and report writing

Basic arithmetic skills required which include adding, subtracting, dividing and multiplying

Computer related experience required. 

Must have a valid New Jersey driver’s license
