Director Campaign Strategy

Job Description

This position has responsibility over both Borgata and MGM National Harbor..

The Director Campaign Strategy executes and makes recommendations for the direct marketing campaign strategy for a group of properties. This role is responsible for optimizing direct marketing campaigns to ensure the properties execute and achieve a return on investment for each direct marketing campaign. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and MGM Resorts International policies, practices and procedures.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists in setting the overall strategy and facilitation of all aspects of direct marketing campaigns for gaming and non-gaming marketing efforts;

Proposes when, what, and to whom to send direct marketing messages that are based on expertise and historical performance;

Collaborates with property marketing teams to determine cross-MGMRI tradeoffs and campaign prioritization to get the highest return on investment;

Drives the campaign execution process from ideation to deployment;

Creates “pro-forma” for the expected response, profit and occupancy and propose specific tests for the property to improve these key metrics;

Provides leadership for all reporting department’s Human Resources responsibilities to include: creating a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction; quality hiring, training, and succession planning processes that encompass the company’s diversity commitment;

Makes recommendations and solicits feedback from properties for customer segmentation for campaigns;

Continuously improves campaigns relative to internal benchmarks including revenue and income; recommends progressive and best practice direct marketing campaigns; achieves key performance metrics;

Liaises between Direct Marketing, Revenue Management, Properties, other COE’s, and support functions;

Manages two-way communication and discussion for inclusion between the Property and Direct Marketing;

Leads Revenue Management Pacing meetings;

Error checks live proofs of direct mail;

Coaches each employee to identify personal goals and developmental needs, identifying training needs as required; ensure each employee completes all required departmental and company training and conduct periodic performance evaluations;

Job Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor degree or equivalent experience.

Two (2) years’ experience in one of the following: casino industry, marketing, hospitality or related field.

PREFERRED:

Direct marketing messaging development expertise, including customer valuation and reinvestment for gaming and nongaming

n-depth experience working in various marketing roles across properties and has knowledge of campaign finance & performance drivers.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Must have or be able to obtain a Gaming Registration card and/or license in relevant jurisdictions

Proof of eligibility to work in the United States

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

DM skillset:

o Expertise in property customer segmentation, valuation and reinvestment for both gaming and nongaming campaigns
o Possesses knowledge of Direct Marketing industry best practices
o Understands customer data management systems
o Working knowledge of campaign finance & performance drivers
o Synthesizes results to generate insights and recommendations for future campaigns

Leadership capabilities:
o Collaborates closely with property to drive campaigns and integrate property input/direction
o Acts as a key DM point of contact for property, incl. transparent communication
o Strategic focus on guest-centric approach
o Collaborates effectively with central teams (e.g., Creative, YRM, IT)
o Influences operations team in execution property campaigns

o Resolves unforeseen issues and overcomes roadblocks
o Advances the desired DM operating model and Profit Growth Plan vision

o Has track record of business results
o Focuses activities on maximizing MGMRI returns

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must be flexible if needed for occasional work outside of normal business hours.
