Banquet Houseman/Porter

Job Description

Creates and ensures a fun-filled, entertaining and exciting environment where the flawless delivery and execution of service excellence are paramount.
Under the direction of the Banquet Manager and/or Supervisor, completes all established set-ups and break-downs of banquet equipment, and stores and maintains all bars, back bars, carts, portable units, tables, chairs, stanchions, etc. appropriately.
Must adhere to the Borgata’s Policies and Procedures.
Assists all other employees in performing their duties whenever required.
Adheres to established hotel policies, food and beverage policies, and liquor laws.
Performs any duty assigned by supervisor or banquet manager.
Responsible for set-up/breakdown.
Stores and maintains all banquet equipment in proper designated areas.
Responsible for freshening meeting room as required.
Promotes positive public/employee relations at all times.
Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility.
Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Responsible for transporting and handling, in a safe and cautious way, all banquet equipment.
Uses safety measures at all times while transporting banquet equipment.
Able to lift up to 150 pounds.
Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, lift, reach, pull, push, kneel, squat and grasp.
Must be able to walk and stand for eight hours.
Ability to access all areas of responsibility by bending over and/or kneeling, reaching, lifting, etc. repeatedly.

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Prior experience is preferred but not required.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and effectively communicate with, take direction from, and assist banquet service staff.
Must manage time effectively with minimum supervision.
