Beverage Manager

Job Description

Creates and ensures a fresh, positive and exciting environment where sanitation, flawless delivery and execution of product excellence and service are paramount.

Accountable for and dedicated to ensuring service commitments, standards /expectations, financial goals, and policies/procedures are consistently upheld.

Builds rapport, commitment, and loyalty with associates and guests.

Must adhere to the Borgata's Policies and Procedures Interviews, hires, trains, schedules, appraises, and counsels all directly assigned personnel.

Trains and develops Beverage Shift Managers while holding them accountable for their performance.

Assists in reviewing and determining beverage requirements on an ongoing basis and insures proper inventories.

Inspects and insures that all facilities and equipment are in excellent working condition and meet all regulatory requirements.

Assists in analyzing all relevant profit and loss information such as sales, costs, labor cost and other incidentals to formulate efficiency improvements and assists in the preparation of budgets within the Beverage department.

Provides for ongoing inspections and taste tests to insure consistency and outstanding quality in both beverage and service.

Adjusts beverage offerings as appropriate based upon customer demand and relevant marketing information/costs.

Assists in administering policy and procedure within department.

Oversees hiring, training, scheduling, and counseling of subordinates as required.

Ensures compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

Promotes positive public/employee relations at all times.

Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility.

Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned.

Eliminates or adds items to wine and beverage list as deemed appropriate to maintain high quality standards.

Conducts weekly meetings with the beverage manager.

Inspects beverage facilities to ensure that equipment and work stations meet requirements of state and local health laws and internal regulations.

Analyzes information concerning facility operation such as daily beverage sales and labor costs to prepare budget and to maintain cost control of facility operations.

Conducts scheduled Casino Beverage Department meetings.

Inspects and tastes beverage samples to maintain quality standards and sanitation regulations.

Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned.



Job Requirements

Must have ability to sit and work from a computer for extended periods

Must be able to stand at copier workstation and effectively use a computer keyboard

Must be able to twist and bend while standing and sitting in order to access files at desk and in file cabinets

Must have the manual dexterity to allow for inputting of data into computer software and be capable viewing computer monitors for extended periods of time

Must be able to read “fine print” areas of invoices and contracts

Must be able lift up to 25 lbs

Must have the manual dexterity to allow for sorting, creating, compiling and labeling of paper document files for extended periods of time

Bachelor s degree from a four year college or university; or three to five years related Beverage management experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
