Banquet Houseman/Porter

Job Description

Works diligently to support the S.H.O.W. Service Basic Standards culture and team philosophy throughout the property

Creates and ensures a fun-filled, entertaining and exciting environment where the flawless delivery and execution of service excellence are paramount

Must adhere to the Borgata’s Policies and Procedures

To maintain a clean, safe, sanitary, and fully stocked front bar, service bar, pump room, or other assigned area during any given shift providing fast, fun, friendly, fresh, and focused support to the service staff servicing our guests

Adhere to established company and departmental procedures, guidelines and policies at all times, including but not limited to guest service, warehouse/requisition procedures, sanitation, safety, and organization.

Promotes positive co-worker and guest interactions, maintain professionalism at all times while working with other employees, departments, and guests

Willing to take continuing training and education classes offered at Borgata or outside institutions

Follows  all OSHA and safety guidelines set forth by the Borgata

Demonstrates a courteous, friendly, polite, congenial and efficient attitude

Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility (bars, pump rooms, storage areas, etc.)

Wears and utilizes all safety equipment necessary to perform job function

Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned

Maintain established company and departmental uniform, appearance, and hygiene standards at all times

Under the direction of the Banquet Manager and/or Supervisor, completes all established set-ups and break-downs of banquet equipment, and stores and maintains all bars, back bars, carts, portable units, tables, chairs, stanchions, etc. appropriately

Assists all other team members in performing their duties whenever required

Adheres to established hotel policies, food and beverage policies, and liquor laws

Performs any duty assigned by supervisor or banquet manager

Responsible for set-up/breakdown

Stores and maintains all banquet equipment in proper designated areas

Responsible for freshening meeting room as required

Promotes positive public/employee relations at all times

Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility

Responsible for transporting and handling, in a safe and cautious way, all banquet equipment.

Uses safety measures at all times while transporting banquet equipment

Job Requirements

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Uses safety measures at all times while transporting banquet equipment.
 
Able to lift up to 150 pounds.
 
Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, lift, reach, pull, push, kneel, squat and grasp.
 
Must be able to walk and stand for eight hours.
 
Ability to access all areas of responsibility by bending over and/or kneeling, reaching, lifting, etc. repeatedly.

QUALIFICATIONS:
 
Must be at least 18 years of age.
 
Prior experience is preferred but not required.
 
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and effectively communicate with, take direction from, and assist banquet service staff.
 
Must manage time effectively with minimum supervision.
