JOB DESCRIPTION:

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The Paralegal is responsible for assisting the Department Attorneys in the delivery of legal services to MGM Resorts International and its subsidiary organizations. All duties are performed in accordance with departmental and MGM Resorts International policies, practices and procedures.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

Drafts correspondences, memorandum and prepares legal documents for review and approval by the Department Attorneys.

Conduct client and witness interviews.

Organize and maintain case files.

Manage and update various compliance and matter tracking systems and databases to assist in tracking and reporting on the various matters handled by the Department. 

Provide assistance to external legal counsel.

Collaborate with corporate and property business partners to review and respond to records requests, subpoenas and related demands.

Provide administrative support for Department Attorneys as needed.

Perform advanced, diversified and confidential secretarial, administrative and paralegal duties requiring broad and comprehensive experience, skill and knowledge of organizational policies and practices.

Exercise discretion and independent judgment commensurate with specialized legal skills and experience.

Conducts legal research.Perform other job related duties as assigned.

 

AREA OF CONCENTRATION – GAMING:

Strong knowledge in multi-jurisdictional gaming regulatory matters, including preparing gaming disclosure forms and preparing individual and business license renewals.

Assists in the preparation of initial licensing of new key employees and individual qualifiers by respective gaming regulators.

Maintains relationships with various gaming regulator staff in multiple jurisdictions.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 Two years of relevant paralegal experience.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Certificate of completion or degree from a paralegal certificate education program or other comparable post-secondary institution.
