Statement of Purpose

This position will perform staff support activities to design, develop, and implement compensation to align with Bob Evans Farms compensation philosophy and business strategies.


  1. Provides support in the planning, design and delivery of compensation policies, procedural documentation, and communication.
  2. Job evaluation and market pricing; assess external labor market to ensure the company maintains a competitive position with peer organizations.
  3. Supports the annual merit review and bonus process.
  4. Participates in compensation salary surveys. Responsible for analyzing data and preparing historical reports regarding variable pay programs. Act as salary survey software administrator.
  5. Acts as CRCA liaison, participate in annual survey, maintain strong presence on behalf of company in the CRCA sponsored website, compile statistics and analytical reports based on CRCA data for the use of Restaurant Operations. (Chain Restaurant Compensation Association)
  6. Prepares Position Descriptions, works with management to ensure the accuracy of descriptions.
  7. Ensures the integrity of compensation data; reviewing information related to grade level and title changes for accuracy.  Lend expertise to Human Resources to ensure the accuracy of position descriptions and continuing salary structure organization.
  8. Supports compensation department in day to day administration of compensation programs.
  9. Assists in support of administration of broad-based stock plan(s), SEC filings, brokerage services and overall communication of equity plans.
  10. All other duties as assigned.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • MS Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to maintain total confidentiality in all matters related to employee compensation
  • Good organizational, project and time management skills
  • Excellent analytical and reasoning skills
  • Knowledge of compensation and equity plan principles/practices, job analysis, documentation and evaluation, incentive compensation and report development
  • Bachelor’s Degree – Human Resource Management or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • CCP preferred; 3 – 5 years experience in compensation or human resources
