STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: 
Responsible for QA departments in Lima, OH facility (Kettle Creations)
 
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  1. Prioritize food safety and quality 
     
  2. Knowledge of HACCP, BRC standards  and Humane Handling procedures 
     
  3. Maintain records for department 
     
  4. Staffs department, train, evaluates and hires 
     
  5. Organizing food safety, quality, food security and humane handling training 
     
  6. Assigns job positions 
     
  7. Manage department budget 
     
  8. Coordinate and manage pest control services 
     
  9. Manage verification of sanitation through pre op inspection program 
     
  10. Basic computer knowledge 
     
  11. Experienced team builder within QA department; with other plant departments; with other corporate plants 
     
  12. Problem solver 
     
  13. Directly supervise 3 employees 
     
  14. Back up to QA Supervisor, QA Technician, Senior QA Manager, and Plant Manager 
     
  15. Enforcement of all safety rules, including the use of PPE 
     
  16. Conduct periodic safety meetings on pertinent safety topics (determined by the Safety Committee) and encourage employees’ feedback on safety matters that concern them. 
     
    KNOWLEDGE: 
  • Ability to carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. 
     
  • Interviewing, hiring and training employees 
     
  • Planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance 
     
  • Addressing complaints and resolving problems

 

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as regulatory guidelines, keep laboratory and food testing facility results 
     
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups 
     
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as averages, percentages and proportions and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry 
     
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form 
     
  • Ability to motivate associates to carry out accident prevention by instruction, example and sincerity. 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Experience:  
B.S. from a four year college or 5 years experience in related industry

Work Environment: 
Employee is regularly exposed to wet and humid conditions.  Employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and high precarious place, outdoor weather conditions, vibration and risk of electrical shock.
The noise level in the plant environment is usually loud and hearing protection is required.
