Sales Planning Analyst/Promotion & Sales

Type of Position: Full-Time
Statement of Purpose
The position requires a person who is analytical and detail-oriented. The sales analyst must be familiar and comfortable using the MS Office Suite as well as the ability to use sales forecasting software. Sales analysts must think creatively to develop new sales techniques and promotions.
Manage and develop databases relating to customer specific expenses, promotional results, promotion activity and sales results.
Manage, develop, and deliver reporting on business initiatives with Finance, Marketing, and Planning departments.
Lead initiatives to identify, report, and provide recommendations for executing on opportunities to improve business practices.
Develop and create sales reports for management staff and use the data from reports to create sales forecasts.
Collaborate with all internal and external customers.
Prepare relevant correspondence to internal and external customers to deliver high level customer service.
Provide high level sales reports to National Accounts Team.
Collaborate in the preparation of product mix reviews, submissions and daily imperatives.
Distribute information and advice to field teams on promotional and assortment activities.
Build market analysis reports to detail a variety of conditions in the market to deliver to management and provide recommendations to maximize results for the various market conditions.
Analyze and provide recommendations for changes in sales techniques or promotional efforts to improve sales performance.
Must have excellent planning and organizational skills
Must be able to utilize Excel with a high level of skill
Must have knowledge and experience with sales order and sales promotion
Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Highly developed analytical ability and strong numerical skills
Must have extensive knowledge and experience with IRI and/or AC Nielsen
Leverage Excel experience to improve business analyses and improve speed to insight.
Basic skills in Visual Basic
Basic skills in Access
Basic Skills in MicroStrategy
BS degree in Management, Operations or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
3-5 years experience in sales or 3 years experience in trade marketing and/or management
Approximately 20% travel may be required.
