HR Generalist


Facilitate positive associate relations between the non-exempt and exempt employees within the facility.   Ensure timely resolution to associate relations issues.  Foster relationships with associates in alignment with the company’s Open Door Policy.  Assist the leadership team in capitalizing on opportunities to increase associate morale in an effort to drive performance and retention.

Looking for candidates on both 1st and 2nd shift


  • Builds relationships and rapport with all associates in an effort to facilitate open two way communication.
  • Gains and maintains credibility with leadership team in order to drive for results and resolution to associate relation issues as needed.
  • Captures opportunities to address associate concerns as they arise and follow up in a timely manner.
  • Provides weekly reports to Senior Leadership Team regarding engagement successes and opportunities. Presents recommendations for Associate Relations Events based on suggestions provided by the associates.
  • Possesses full comprehension of all Bed Bath & Beyond Policies and Procedures.
  • Supports change management within the facility by being the subject matter expert of any changes.
  • Contributes to and supports all company and building programs and initiatives.  Works with all managers to achieve overall shift and building goals.
  • Enhances and supports Human Resources initiatives as needed, i.e. Open Enrollment, Wellness.
  • Works with Human Resource Managers and Leadership Team to support any initiatives in the facility.
  • Conducts touch bases with newly hired associates at 2 weeks, 30 days, and 60 days.
  • Educates all associates on the company’s associate relations philosophy.
  • Works closely with managers within the facility to identify areas with significant engagement opportunities.
  • Reviews turnover data to identify opportunities to improve retention.
  • Maintains and enhances overall associate relations and job satisfaction through effective communication, fair and consistent treatment, respect for the individual, and establishment of clear expectations and accountability.
  • Utilizes effective time management skills in the performance of all assigned tasks.

  • Always ensure the focus is on the internal and external customer.
  • Maintain positive associate relations to support the company’s associate relations philosophy and open door policy.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Management, or related field and /or equivalent work experience preferred but not required.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience.
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is required.
Ability to maneuver through storage racks, trailers, and other areas of the warehouse.  Requires ability to use office equipment including, but not limited to, phone, keyboard monitor, and calculator.  Must be able to communicate effectively, both in person and on the telephone.  Could be asked to provide physical activity including, but not limited to, sitting, standing, bending, stooping, lifting (up to 50lbs), and walking (up to 80% of the day). 

Inside average office environment 20% of the time, inside warehouse environment 80% of the time.  Depending on location and time of year, extreme high and low temperatures within the building will be experienced.  Average noise level within the office environment; noise level within the warehouse are within normal decibel level.  No personal protective equipment required.
