Tortilleria Merchandiser Trainer

 

JOB DESCRIPTION::

Division Tortilleria merchandiser-trainers are tortilleria experts, responsible for working with store directors and tortilleria department managers, helping them grow their business. In addition to managing their own tortilleria department, several days a week, the division tortilleria merchandiser-trainer provides guidance to other tortilleria managers, presenting and facilitating the implementation of new merchandising programs, processes and methods.


Duties and Responsibilities; include but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide training, guidance and coaching to department members, , demonstrating proper techniques for production, care, and merchandising of all items for sale.
  • Drive Food City’s’ merchandising programs and customer service philosophies at store level.
  • Facilitate and supervise the production/merchandising activities in the tortilleria department.
  • Ensure proper execution of corporate programs at store level, assuring conformity with established sales, food safety, customer service, merchandising, and pricing program goals and objectives.
  • Provide merchandising support assistance to store directors and department managers.
  • Advise store directors and deli managers of new or improved merchandising procedures and new performance standards.
  • Review with managers projected sales, gross profit margin, expense control and operating profit objectives; helping to ensure budgeted goals are met. 
  • Previously or currently a successful manager of a deli department. 

 

Performs other duties as needed or assigned by management. Must be at least 18-years old.

JOB REQUIREMENTS::

Ability to:

  • Engage proactively with team members and customers; adept at building lasting relationships.
  • Communicate effectively with store directors, deli managers and team members.
  • Successfully implement and train new programs and processes; coach members and deli managers, motivating them to improve their performance.
  • Consistently demonstrate and model Food City’s’10 management leadership behaviors.
  • Write clear and concise instructions; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, percentages and decimals.
  • Use Microsoft Office applications.  
  • Extensive knowledge of the operations of deli department operations.
  • A valid driver’s license (merchandiser-trainers drive to various store locations and offices on a regular basis.
