Officer - I, Security

Job Description:

<p> <font face="Arial"><u><strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</strong> (other duties may be assigned)</u><br /> When acting as a Security Officer (Must be in full security officer&rsquo;s uniform):<br /> <br /> <br /> &bull;&nbsp;Must adhere to all aspects of the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Program and its regulations including,&nbsp;<br /> &nbsp; but not limited to, Title 31 Cash Transactions, Suspicious Activity Reporting and Customer&nbsp;<br /> &nbsp; Identification&nbsp;requirements.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Ensures the integrity of gambling, banking, count room and cash handling procedures.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Maintains a constant surveillance throughout the Casino watching for irregularities or illegal gaming&nbsp;<br /> &nbsp; devices.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Immediately reports suspicious or unusual activities to the proper Dept. Supervisor, Surveillance&nbsp;<br /> &nbsp; Officer or Security Director.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Periodically checks perimeter and cash cage door.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Delivers fills/credits from cage to gaming stations.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Escorts all chips and cash transfers within the Casino.&nbsp;<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Collects and transports table game drop boxes to storage area.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Assists in monitoring traffic as required.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Maintains and controls access to restricted areas.&nbsp;<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Checks ID for possible underage customers.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Responsible for opening outer door of ATM machine for fills.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Provide security for Cash Cage and Count Room.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Ensures the safety of guests and employees of the Hotel and Casino operation.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Performs first aid, CPR and the use of the AED as required.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Works with local police, fire or emergency medical teams as necessary.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Protects Hotel and Casino assets.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Accepts found property and tags for safekeeping, accepts found or confiscated drugs and tags for&nbsp;<br /> &nbsp; safekeeping.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Assists in locating lost property, files report if not found.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Fosters and maintains positive player/house relations.&nbsp; Accepts, records, and notifies management of&nbsp;<br /> &nbsp; guest or employee complaints.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Removes individuals from the Hotel and Casino when directed by the General Manager or Security&nbsp;<br /> &nbsp; management.<br /> &bull;&nbsp; Makes citizens arrests for law violations, when required.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Responsible for keeping Key Records and issuing sensitive keys.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Patrols the Casino, Hotel and pool areas for undesirable guests. (SRC)<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Performs the functions of Security Dispatch/Surveillance or Bike Officer, if required.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Handles all other Security functions as directed.&nbsp; </font></p> <p> <font face="Arial"><u>When acting as a Bicycle Officer:</u><br /> <br /> &bull;&nbsp;Escort and provide perimeter safety for transfer of cash by armored service.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Ensures the safety of guests and employees of the Hotel and Casino operation.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Performs first aid, CPR, and the use of the AED, as required.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Works with local police, fire and emergency medical teams as necessary.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Accepts found property and tags for safe keeping.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Assists in locating lost property.&nbsp; Files reports if not found.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Fosters and maintains positive player/house relations.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Accepts records and notifies management of guest or employee complaints.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Removes individuals from the Casino when directed by the General Manager or Security&nbsp;<br /> &nbsp; Management.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Makes lawful citizens arrests for violations of the State or Tribal Law.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Protection of life and property through patrol and observation of the Spa Resort Hotel &amp; Casino&nbsp;<br /> &nbsp; grounds.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Crime detection, prevention and suppression through investigation of suspicious circumstances and&nbsp;<br /> &nbsp; the elimination of the opportunity to commit crime; apprehension of offenders.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;The initial investigation and reporting of criminal and non-criminal incidents.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Escorts employees and customers to and from their vehicles, if requested.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;The bicycle detail shall patrol the following areas:&nbsp; Hotel parking lots, Employee parking lot, Casino&nbsp;<br /> &nbsp; parking lot, Administrative parking lot, Tribal Office, and Agua Caliente Gaming Commission Offices.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;May be called for service at off site Tribal properties. </font></p> <p> <font face="Arial"><u>When acting as a Surveillance Dispatch Officer:</u><br /> <br /> <br /> &bull;&nbsp;Monitors and responds to all incoming radio transmissions.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Coordinates, directs, and reports all incoming radio, and telephone communication.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Dispatches appropriate Security personnel for assignment.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Contacts local Law Enforcement, Fire Department, or other emergency personnel as directed in the&nbsp;<br /> &nbsp; event of emergency activity.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Provides information as requested by Security &amp; ACGC personnel.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Ensures the safety and security of guests, team members, cash, and physical assets of the Tribe.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Maintains proper radio communication and phone etiquette with On-Duty Security personnel, Casino&nbsp;<br /> &nbsp; staff, and the general public.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Maintains a constant surveillance throughout each monitored area watching for irregularities including,&nbsp;<br /> &nbsp; but not limited to, criminal activity, policy violation, and other suspicious activity.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Reports, records, and maintains any suspicious activity captured on video tape with the approval of the&nbsp;<br /> &nbsp; Security Supervisor or above.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Immediately reports suspicious or unusual activities to Security Supervision.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Monitors and records an overview of non-gaming activity occurring in each monitored area via CCTV&nbsp;<br /> &nbsp; (Closed Circuit television).<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Maintains VHS tape, CD, DVD, as well as, other forms of storage media evidence in libraries.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Inventory and maintenance of Security Surveillance equipment.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Monitors and operates Security Surveillance cameras and other recording devices.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Reviews Security Surveillance video recordings to isolate incident activity as directed by Security&nbsp;<br /> &nbsp; Supervision.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Computer and written data entry of Daily Dispatch Activity Log to include all incidents, VHS tape, and&nbsp;<br /> &nbsp; other recording media changes, report logs, dispatch logs, etc.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Provides information as requested by Security &amp; ACGC Surveillance personnel.<br /> &bull;&nbsp;Ensures the safety and security of guests, team members, cash, and physical assets of the Tribe.</font></p> <p> <font face="Arial"><u><strong>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></u><br /> <br /> None<br /> <br /> GAMING EXPERIENCE NOT REQUIRED</font></p>

Job Requirements:

<p> <font face="Arial"><strong><u>QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS</u></strong><br /> To perform this job successfully, and individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.&nbsp; The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.&nbsp; Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals&rsquo; with disabilities to perform the essential functions. </font><font face="Arial">The Security Officer II will maintain a deeper understanding of Peace Officer standards and may have additionally taken Post 832 Course, although this is not a requirement of the position.</font></p> <p> <font face="Arial"><strong><u>EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE</u></strong><br /> High school diploma or G.E.D.&nbsp; Desirable to have experience in Law Enforcement, Security, Military, current Guard Card or 832 PC College classes.&nbsp; Required to obtain a current CPR, AED, and First Aid Certificate.&nbsp; The First Aid/CPR training is provided by the Security/Safety Coordinator.&nbsp; Must be able to write clear and concise reports and be able to communicate in English.&nbsp; Must have experience in radio telephone communications and dispatch. Must be able to communicate without significant impediment or accent in English.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </font></p> <p> <font face="Arial"><strong><u>WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS</u></strong><br /> To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to stand, move and work throughout the office area and properties, including walking up to 1 &frac12; mile, climbing stairs, and sitting at a desk/work station for the duration of the shift.&nbsp; Must be able to work in a smoke filled environment.&nbsp; Must be able to work in a &ldquo;lighting subdued&rdquo; environment for extended periods of time.&nbsp; Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions to include extreme heat and cold weather. </font><font face="Arial">The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but will escalate when located in the casino environment.&nbsp; Must be able to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry or otherwise move goods weighing a minimum of 25 lbs. on an intermittent basis, and sufficient dexterity of hand in order to use office equipment including, but not limited to:&nbsp; a computer keyboard, calculator, general office equipment and multi-line telephone. </font></p>
