Commission Analyst



• Responsible for understanding the various commission structures and calculations in order to process payments accurately and timely for multiple business units according to compensation plans and internal policies. Also responsible for interpretation and compliance of various legal contracts; works closely with Field Sales Operations and HR to help manage and oversee compensation plans, which includes accounting for on-boarding of new hires, plan updates, Sales Promotion Incentive Fund (SPIFFs) compensation changes and annual compensation plan updates. This includes answering and resolving commission questions and issues that may arise from various parts of the organization. • Responsible for analyzing, and processing captive field staff advance commissions, broker commissions and association fees to ensure timely and accurate payments according to contract terms and divisional compensation plans. Creates, validates, and audits monthly reports to ensure accuracy and completeness of commissions crediting and payout results; including preparation of key monthly reporting of commissions, contests, and sales attainment metrics. Additional duties include serving as liaison to sales staff, executives, home office colleagues and management for special projects and communication. • Responsible for technical setup, monitoring, and maintaining the Incentive Compensation System (ICM), serves as subject matter expert and consultant for design and implementation on various inter-division and company-wide projects, including but not limited to changes in policy administration, product development, changes in compensation policies, and changes in third party contracts. Performs configuration, testing, and troubleshooting activities related to changes in the ICM, that require working knowledge of SQL and database programming language. In addition, completes other duties, such as complex auditing as needed and prepares and maintains detailed procedures and provides support to internal or external auditors and for quarterly model audit rule requests.


• Five to seven years’ experience in Commissions, Accounting, Compensation or a similar role analyzing and reconciling large sets of data. • Strong Technical Knowledge to include troubleshooting capabilities, and ability to assess and communicate technological needs. • Strong mathematical and analytical skills for monitoring commission data and resolving commission issues. • Expert ability to multi-task and manage changing priorities through balancing short- and long-term commitments. • Ability to prioritize and manage time in a fast-paced environment. • The ability to direct and verify the work of teammates in a productive and positive manner. • Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently with ability to lead and participate on cross-functional teams and projects. • Strong decision-making ability. • Above average score required on pre-employment analytical tests. • Ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written with various levels of the organization, consistently displaying a high level of professionalism. • Demonstrated ability to analyze issues, determine appropriate solutions and resolve sensitive problems related to sales and commission data. • High level of accuracy and attention to detail; ability to look outside the box to see how items coordinate or link together.
